art & utility

Currently I am organizing an exhibition at the West Wales Schools of The Arts @ colegsirgar tilted Art & Utility. The aim of the exhibition is to bring together visual artists and potters in a mixed show of ceramic plates. Many of the artists and ceramicists have a national or International exhibiting profile I have also included recent graduates from New Designers 2009 and students from the college. The show runs from 4th Nov – Dec 4th. The exhibition for me marks the start of a personal aim to make utilitarian work.

I have started to produce a series of small images printed onto luggage labels. The prints are boxed framed mounted on a white ground, placed off centre within the frame. The tile of this print is ‘walker’ a recurrent theme within the work. A friend recently quoted “walk and it will be solved” I’m unsure of the literary reference but it rings true. The framed prints are £265 - 1/100 including postage. e-mail to place an order.
